Our Story
Whether you’ve been referred to us or found us online, chances are you want to know a little bit about us. Many years ago, our founding partners John Slattery and Mike Gamache worked for an employer who seemed to value his extravagant lifestyle more than his techs and customers.
Tired of excuses, John and Mike opened up their own shop in 2012—taking the customer-first approach they wish they’d had previously. Two friends and colleagues working with a shared vision, they launched AGS HVAC Services. John and Mike set out to make a difference by taking an innovative approach, installing cutting-edge Bryant products, and delivering warm and friendly customer service throughout.
Our dynamic duo started small, working out of a home office and managing just two trucks. Today AGS has a well-stocked fleet, our own sheet metal shop, and a fully-insured business serving all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Mike’s daughter Rachel Sylvain, who recently became an AGS partner, now serves as CEO—and as a member of Bryant’s Women in HVAC, she recognizes that our company’s strength lies at the intersection of family and teamwork.

Our goals at AGS HVAC Services are twofold: We strive to put the customer first, and to create a culture that people want to be a part of. Our team will never make excuses to customers, employees, or vendors. Instead, we hope to lead, motivate, communicate, and inspire.
We’re deeply committed to serving our community. This is in large part thanks to a key member of our team, which isn’t a person on our payroll, but an entire company: Bryant. In collaboration with Bryant, we’ve raised money for our local food pantry, installed crucial equipment in their food refrigeration space, established an AAU scholarship program for female-student athletes, and offered outreach and support to local vocational training programs. We want others to love our industry—and our community—as much as we do.
